Positive Behavior Expectations Matching Game

Help students understand how to behave appropriately in one of the busiest shared spaces in school with PBIS Memory Cards: In the Office Edition! This engaging matching game helps students recognize common office behavior challenges and connect each one with an appropriate corrective action, replacement behavior, or responsible next step.

Students encounter realistic situations such as walking into staff-only areas without permission, putting feet on office chairs, entering the principal’s office without knocking, using the office phone without permission, running to the nurse, playing with office supplies, interrupting meetings, and entering the office without a clear reason. More Than a Traditional Memory Game

This resource combines the familiar fun of a memory game with meaningful PBIS instruction.

Students make the connection:

Unexpected Office Behavior → Appropriate Replacement Behavior

When students find a matching pair, extend the learning with questions such as:

Why might this behavior be inappropriate in the school office?
How could it affect staff members who are working?
How can students show respect for privacy and confidentiality?
What should a student do while waiting for assistance?
How can students appropriately ask for help?

The corrective cards reinforce practical behaviors such as introducing yourself politely, sitting or standing in designated waiting areas, taking deep breaths while waiting patiently, thanking staff after receiving help, returning to class for the proper pass, and listening and responding politely when an adult speaks. Easy to Prepare & Play

Simply print, cut, shuffle, and play!

For additional durability, print the cards on cardstock and laminate them for repeated use throughout the school year.

For traditional memory play, place the cards face down. Students turn over two cards at a time and try to match an office behavior scenario with its corresponding corrective-action card. When a correct match is found, the student keeps the pair.

The cards can also be used for sorting activities, discussion prompts, role-play, partner challenges, small-group intervention, office-procedure practice, or whole-class PBIS review.

Build Respectful Office Habits

The school office is a shared working environment where students may interact with secretaries, administrators, nurses, teachers, families, and visitors. Knowing how to enter, wait, communicate, and ask for help appropriately is an important part of schoolwide behavior expectations.

PBIS Memory Cards: In the Office Edition gives students an engaging way to practice those expectations while reinforcing patience, privacy, respectful communication, and responsibility.

Help students bring Safe, Respectful, and Responsible behavior with them every time they visit the school office!
