How It Works

Students read the bus scenario and decide what positive PBIS choice they would make. Then they explain why their choice shows safety, respect, responsibility, or kindness. After discussing or writing their response, students can scan the QR code to check a sample answer.

These cards work well for whole-class discussion, partner talk, small-group intervention, bus behavior review, counseling lessons, or independent reflection. With 40 cards included, you can use one bus scenario each week for an entire school year.

Why Teachers Love It

Bus behavior can be challenging because students are in a less structured setting, often during busy arrival and dismissal times. These cards help students practice what positive bus behavior actually looks like, including staying seated, using quiet voices, following the driver’s directions, keeping belongings safe, and treating others kindly.

Instead of only reminding students to “sit down” or “be quiet,” this resource gives them real-life bus situations where they can think through better choices.

On the Bus Edition Topics Include

Boarding the bus safely
Staying seated while the bus is moving
Listening to the bus driver
Using quiet voices
Keeping the aisle clear
Managing backpacks and belongings
Waiting safely at the bus stop
Getting off the bus calmly
Following bus pass or assigned seat procedures
Helping younger or nervous students
Showing kindness to seat partners
Handling teasing or conflict respectfully

Suggested Use

Use one card per week as a PBIS mini-lesson, morning meeting prompt, bus behavior reteaching tool, or classroom discussion starter. Students can answer aloud, write responses on a whiteboard, discuss with a partner, or scan the QR code after responding to check a sample answer.

PBIS Scenario Task Cards: On the Bus Edition is a simple, engaging way to teach and reinforce positive bus behavior all year long.
